I've done this work as a gift for my mother, as practice, and just cause I liked the reference. Dilana was my mother's favourite in Rockstar Supernova and I'm sure my mother cried when she lost. I'm also going to do one of Lucas Rossi, the winner, just cause I think he would be a great subject.
I tried my new Derwent water-soluable graphite for the background, it didn't come out as smooth as I would have liked, but it is darker than I ever dreamed. I had to go back over the darks in her features to match it.
If you see anything that needs fixed: Please SPEAK NOW OR FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE! Cause i'm sending it to my mother next week.
{Update} I did get to smooth out the background a bit more before I sent it to my Mum. I think she likes it
Thanks I'm very relieved at how it came out. It could have all gone pear shaped if I didn't get her features right, seeing as they are already distorted.
I hope so too! Cause I will be very upset if I find it's been used as a coaster after having spent a week on it! (of course a week really only amouts to about 6 hours - but still!! )
I'm quite amazed... actually. I can really see a lot of talent in this... I'm probably most amazed by the fact that the proportions are so perfect on such an unusual expression. It's dynamic and intriguing and I really love this.
The only advice I could give is to make the black background actually *black* (the contrast would mean worlds for this I believe) as well as maybe invest a bit more interest in using a blender. Otherwise, it's virtually flawless... I could certainly learn a thing or two.
OMG! I love this. Thanks so much for drawing this picture!

Fallen angels at my feet, Whispered voices at my ear, Death before my eyes lying next to me I fear, She beckons me shall I give in, Before my end shall i begin, Forsaking all I've fallen for, I rise to meet the end.
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
